Fly With Me |

In 1974 a northern Illinois
snowstorm caused Burt Bestler to cancel enrollment in an oil painting
class and enter one in watercolor offered closer to home. This
whim of nature embarked him on a “love affair” with
watercolor, which has continued to grow and has constantly amazed
him with its own whims and challenges.
Two years after his introduction, he began exhibiting, demonstrating
and teaching watercolor. Since then, he has been in more juried
shows than he can recall and has demonstrated for art groups
and societies throughout the mid-west and southeast. He has taught
at the Eastern Shore Art School in Fairhope, Alabama and at the
Clearing in Ellison Bay, Florida. He has also conducted many
workshops for Washington Island Art Association and other groups.
“Birches, boats and barns, fields, hills, sky and sea,
all have been woven into the style and mood of my paintings.
I paint for the sheer joy of it and my ‘love affair’ continues.
That you for taking this time to share it with me.”
